ALAN L. MILLIKEN CFPIM CIRM
Biography:
Alan Milliken is a consultant in BASF Corporation’s Business Process Optimization group. He has extensive experience in manufacturing & distribution, supply chain consulting, and as a supply chain educator. He has been published in several supply chain journals and a supply chain textbook. Alan has spoken at several regional and national meetings on such topics as Demand Planning, e-Business, Sales & Operations Planning, Inventory Management, and Supply Chain Metrics. In 2003 & 2004 he spoke at APICS International and the International Business Forecasting Conference.
Alan has 22 years experience in manufacturing including production, logistics, quality & process control, industrial engineering, operations planning, and operator training. During the past 10 years he has served as a consultant on seven major business improvement projects including two major acquisitions and taught APICS CPIM classes. He teaches both within and outside BASF. Some of his clients include Intel Corporation, Tiffany & Company, Lucent Technologies, Allied Signal, and Gulfstream Airplanes
Alan recently completed a two-year assignment in BASF Mexicana where he consulted 7 Strategic Business Units and 5 production facilities. While there, he taught all five CPIM courses within BASF Mexicana and also taught Operations Management at the University of Panamericana in Mexico City. In 2000, Alan was selected by an independent consulting firm from the APICS membership database of 65,000 professionals as one of three people who answer the question, “What is a Supply Chain Manager?” In 2002, he was recognized as “Outstanding Instructor” by West Jersey APICS.
